Homework for September
Grade 2: Draw lines to divide a page of your art notebook into 4 boxes. Draw one of these shapes in each box: circle, square, triangle, rectangle. Now, make a drawing out of each shape. (example: Make the triangle into a christmas tree with decorations). Color all of your drawings with crayons. Never use markers in notebook. (Due September 21)

Grade 3: Draw lines to divide a page of your art notebook into 6 boxes. Draw one of these shapes in each box: circle, square, triangle, oval, rectangle, any irregular shape. Now, make a drawing out of each shape. (example: Make the triangle into a christmas tree with decorations). Color all of your drawings with crayons. No markers in notebook. (Due September 21)

Kindergarten: Week of September 21

Shape Collage
Help your child draw and cut out shapes from construction paper. Make 2 of each shape, and make each shape a different color (red circles, pink hearts, green triangles, orange squares, blue ovals, yellow diamonds). You can cut them out for your children if they aren't able to do it themselves yet. Allow your child to arrange and glue the shapes to  a piece of Black construction paper. Take a picture and send it to me.

Draw a line down the middle of your paper. Draw pictures of your house and the other houses, stores, trees and cars on your block. Draw the sky with clouds, rainbows and the sun (and maybe birds) above the houses. Now draw the streets, sidewalk, driveways and grass below the houses.
Example: 

Color in entire picture with crayons or colored pencils. Sky from top of page to top of houses (Don't leave any white areas). Grass from bottom of street to bottom of page. Color street gray!

Grade 3 Art Lesson: Due week of May 18th

Day 1:
Draw a landscape in pencil on copy paper. Use a horizon line and make sure that a few things overlap. Then, draw at least two elements from each Landscape element category: SKY, LAND, MAN MADE, WATER, AND LIVING THINGS. (see notes for examples). Remember that things that are far away are small (top of page) and things that are close up are large (bottom of page).
Day 2:
Outline entire drawing with black crayon. Paint whole page with watercolor.
