Homework: Draw lines to divide a page of your art notebook into 6 sections. Draw shapes in each section: Use one of the new shapes we practiced in our notes this year (pentagon, hexagon or octagon). Use 4 other regular shapes (circle, square, triangle, oval, rectangle). Use one irregular shape. Make each shape that you chose into a drawing. (example: Make a triangle into a christmas tree with decorations). Color all of your drawings with crayons or colored pencils. No markers in notebook.

Class Project: Caricature/Biographical portrait
Homework: Make a caricature/biographical portrait of yourself in your favorite clothing in your art notebook. Draw small pictures of the things that you love most in the background. (Video games, art stuff, sports things, design clothing, ride horseback, your pets, etc.) Color in with colored pencil or crayon.

Grades 4 and 5 Art Supplies
4 sharpened pencils,
1 pink or white eraser,
a pencil sharpener, 4 oz.
Elmer's glue,
2 glue sticks,
a pack of 24 Crayola crayons,
a marble notebook and a t-shirt smock.
an 8-10 pack of Crayola classic colors markers (broad line size),
a tray of 8 Crayola watercolors,
a 4oz. pack of Model Magic (any color)
A 16 pack pentel oil pastels,
(if you can find them online, they are cheaper and
take up less space than the Crayola oil pastels but Crayola are still the best!)
A 12 pack of colored pencils.
Mark all supplies,
including t-shirt smock, paints, markers, oil pastels, pencils and notebook with your child’s name and grade.
