Chapter 1 -Plants
1. The roots hold the plant in the soil.
2. The leaves make sugars that the plant needs to grow.
3. The flower is the part of the plant that makes seeds.
4. The stem carries water to the leaves.
5. Not all plants have the same kinds of seeds.
6. Fruits cover and protect seeds.
7. Seeds travel or scatter in different ways. Scatter means to spread out.
8.People, animals, water, and wind scatter seeds. New plants grow from seeds.
9. Plants can be used to make many things including food and clothes. People use food and clothes every day. We also use the oxygen that plants release into the air.
10. Plants need sunlight, water, and air in order to grow.
11. Some plants are only green. Other plants have bright flowers.
